ATV Beach Tours

Tourism Service in Playa Flamingo, Guanacaste, Costa Rica.

ATV Beach Tours sits on the front beach road at Playa Brasilito, in the Playa Conchal pocket a short hop from Flamingo's hotels and marina. Guided ATV rides are the core of the day here: dry-forest tracks, town beaches, and the coastal strip that links Brasilito, Flamingo, and Potrero. The same desk also books a Congo Trail zip-line combo, Tempisque river boats, Flamingo Marina sailing, jet skis, and full inland days toward Rincón de la Vieja and Río Celeste.

Bookings go through WhatsApp. The office runs Monday through Sunday from 8:00 to 18:30, and the phone stays reachable later. Transfers can be arranged from Tamarindo, Flamingo, the Westin, and Liberia. If you are already in Conchal, Brasilito, or Flamingo, you are close enough that the ride itself is the outing, not the drive to it.

Beach, town, and hill ATV routes

The ATV Beach and Mountain Tour is the straightforward loop. It starts in Brasilito, runs north through Guanacaste dry forest, and visits Playa Brasilito, Flamingo, and Potrero, with photo stops along the way. It costs $109 with a two-person minimum. The company presents this loop as a good fit for mixed ages. Choose it when you want the three-town strip without extra climbing.

The Hidden Beaches Tour is $135, also with a two-person minimum. It aims at coastline that regular cars struggle to reach, looks for monkeys and iguanas, builds in time for photographs, and allows a swim. The route can pass quieter coves such as Playa Mina as well as the better-known beaches. Pack a swimsuit if a dip is part of why you came.

The ATV Top of the World Adventure is $135 with a two-person minimum. It still visits beaches and towns and looks for wildlife, then climbs to a high viewpoint for a wide ocean panorama. Some driving experience is needed. Take this one if you already feel comfortable on an ATV and the hillside view is the point of the morning.

ATV outings include a professional guide, a helmet, and bottled water. Guiding is offered in English and Spanish. Hotel pickup is available from selected properties when you choose that option. Drivers need to be at least 17 and hold a license. The Hidden Beaches outing caps groups at 15. The rides are not recommended during pregnancy or for people with back problems, and a moderate fitness level is expected.

Zip lines, volcano days, and rainforest hikes

The Zip Line-Canopy and ATV Tour keeps you on the coast and still gets you onto Congo Trail in about four hours. It costs $165 with a two-person minimum. It starts in Brasilito, winds north through the beaches of Punta Pelencho, Flamingo, and Potrero, then climbs toward Congo Trail. There you ride zip lines and cross hanging bridges over dry forest before returning to Brasilito.

The Mega Combo Tour is $190 with a four-person minimum. It runs from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with lunch included. The package includes zip line, horseback riding, a mountain water slide, hot springs, and mud baths. Treat it as the whole day, not a morning add-on.

The Adrenaline tour is $209 with a four-person minimum. It is set on the slopes of Rincón de la Vieja. The sequence includes zip-line canopy, rappelling, rock climbing, and a Tarzan swing in Río Negro Canyon, then about 45 minutes of tube rafting downstream. A buffet lunch and a horseback ride follow, then sauna, mud bath, and hot springs. It typically starts at 7:00 a.m. and returns around 6:00 p.m.

The Río Celeste waterfall and sloth sanctuary outing is $190 with a four-person minimum. You hike rainforest trails in Tenorio National Park to a waterfall on a sky-blue river, then continue to a small reserve where sloths, frogs, and birds can be seen. Like the volcano day, it needs an early start and a late return.

Boats, catamarans, and jet skis

Water time starts at Flamingo Marina or on the Tempisque River, not at the ATV base. The Palo Verde National Park boat tour is $135 with a four-person minimum. It is a small-group cruise through mangroves on the Tempisque, where crocodiles, monkeys, iguanas, and birds are often seen in the wetlands.

Panache sailing and snorkeling is $98 and boards at Flamingo Marina. A morning charter starts around 8:30 a.m. for four hours. A sunset catamaran leaves at 14:00, also for four hours. The outing includes snorkeling, a small buffet of homemade chicken burrito with dips, chips, and fresh fruit, and an open bar.

The jet ski adventure is $200 with a two-person minimum. It is a two-hour run along the coast to several beaches, including Playa Conchal and Playa Flamingo, with snorkeling at Isla Amor. It covers the same water you glimpse from the ATV routes, so it pairs better with a hill climb than with another beach loop.

Pickup times and a simple Flamingo day

From Tamarindo, the transfer to the Brasilito start is about 20 to 25 minutes. From Playa Grande it is about 15 minutes, and from Langosta about 25. Transfers can also be arranged from Flamingo, the Westin, and Liberia. Save the ATV for the morning after you land rather than the same day you fly in.

Bring a swimsuit if you booked Hidden Beaches or the jet ski run, since both allow time in the water. Closed-toe shoes are the practical choice on an ATV. Keep the rest of the bag light so it is easy to handle at the start point in Brasilito.

A clean Flamingo-based day is a morning beach-and-mountain or Hidden Beaches ride, lunch in Brasilito or at the marina, then a swim. Tamarindo guests should treat the transfer as part of the outing and keep the evening free. Couples already meet the two-person minimum on the core ATV, jet ski, and sailing products. A family of four opens Palo Verde, the mega combo, the adrenaline day, and Río Celeste.

Which route fits the strip

The Flamingo-Brasilito-Potrero strip is compact: Flamingo's white sand and marina, Brasilito's town beach, Conchal nearby, and Potrero just north. An operator on the Brasilito beach road can cover that cluster without a long highway haul. That is why ATV Beach Tours works well if you are already staying in Flamingo, Conchal, or Brasilito.

Match energy to distance. A coastal ATV loop or the four-hour Congo Trail combo still leaves room for the beach. Rincón de la Vieja, Río Celeste, and the mega combo eat the whole day. If you want to drive yourself, say so when you book. If you want the hillside ocean view, say you want Top of the World and that you have some ATV experience.
