Enterprise Rent-A-Car

Transportation in Brasilito, Guanacaste, Costa Rica.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Brasilito sits 500 meters toward Brasilito Beach from Hotel Westin Playa Conchal, in Brasilito, 50304. Treat the Westin as the landmark, then continue that short stretch toward the sand. The counter serves people already on this Guanacaste coast who want a car for Brasilito, Playa Conchal, and day trips toward Flamingo or Tamarindo.

This branch works when your stay begins with a shuttle, taxi, or bus and you only need a car once you are near the beach. If you want keys as soon as you land, Liberia International Airport and Tamarindo Airport are different Enterprise locations.

Finding the office from The Westin

Use Hotel Westin Playa Conchal as the landmark, then go 500 meters toward Brasilito Beach. The postal area is 50304. Pickup service is unavailable, so plan a short walk or a taxi from your lodging. Nobody will collect you from a lobby or from Liberia.

The office is useful for Playa Conchal stays because the Westin is the landmark for this stretch of coast. That does not mean the keys wait inside the resort. Reach the counter during open hours, then drive back to the sand, a villa, or the next beach.

When a Brasilito pickup actually fits

Hours run daily from 09:00 to 15:00. After-hours returns are unavailable. You need enough time to finish the contract, walk the vehicle, and leave before the counter closes. A late afternoon arrival leaves you without a car until the next morning.

An evening flight into Liberia will miss this window. Overnight first, or reach Brasilito another way and collect the car the next day. If your lodging already includes transfers and you plan a quiet first afternoon, wait until you actually need independent wheels.

What to bring so the counter goes quickly

Renters present a valid, unexpired driver's license from their country of residence. Temporary permits and renewal papers are not accepted. Visitors may use a foreign license for up to 90 days in Costa Rica. Longer stays require an International Driving Permit.

An IDP is recommended when the license is not in English or Latin characters. It is required, or a notarized English translation must be provided, when the license uses Chinese, Arabic, Cyrillic, or another non-Latin script. Costa Rican citizens bring a cédula.

A major credit card in the renter's name is required. American Express, Discover, Mastercard, and Visa are accepted. Debit cards and cash may settle remaining balances at return only. At pickup the location takes a 500 USD security deposit plus the estimated rental cost for every vehicle category.

The minimum age is 21, with no maximum. Drivers aged 21 to 24 pay an extra daily fee. You need to have held your license for at least two consecutive years. Choose manual or automatic when you reserve, because many cars in Costa Rica are manual.

Costa Rican citizens who want a Standard SUV or higher must show at least two credit cards in their name. One of them must be a Visa, Mastercard, or American Express Black or Infinite card. That rule also covers full-size, premium, and luxury SUVs, pickup trucks, vans, and commercial trucks.

Anyone added as a driver must meet the same requirements and appear at the counter with a license. Additional drivers can be added at any Costa Rica location during the rental. The fee is 5.00 USD per day. For Costa Rican citizens, that extra driver must hold the same credit-card category as the primary renter.

Protections, fuel, roadside help, and tolls

Collision Damage Waiver and Theft Protection is optional and is not insurance. The Enterprise Protection Package bundles CDW-TP, tire and windshield protection, deductible protection, and third-party liability, with no deductible. CDW-TP on its own can carry deductibles of up to 1,000 USD for collision and 2,000 USD for theft.

Third-party liability is required unless you show written proof of liability coverage that names Costa Rica, or you buy the package. TPL deductibles run from 250 USD to 5,000 USD. Coverage from outside Costa Rica, products sold on travel sites, and insurance attached to U.S. cards are not accepted as proof.

Declining both CDW-TP and the package without acceptable Costa Rica coverage leaves you responsible for the full value of damage or loss. An extra 500 USD authorization plus the estimated rental is taken. Costa Rican bank cards used to decline CDW need written proof of coverage on the rental vehicle.

Fuel has three options. Prepay Fuel charges for a full tank at 5 percent below local prices. Return empty, with no refund for unused fuel. We Refill bills unused fuel at a higher-than-local price plus a 50 percent surcharge. You Refill means you bring the tank back full.

Stations nationwide are full service. Tell the attendant the fuel grade and they pump. Roadside Assistance, when purchased at rental, is available around the clock. It covers non-accident towing, lockouts, jump-starts, and delivery of up to five gallons of fuel. Flat tires are included, or a tow if the spare is not inflated.

Lost keys, including remotes, are not included, and replacement is 500.00 USD. Toll pass devices can be added for a daily fee so you can use the fast lane. Tolls exist on Costa Rican highways, including Route 27 leaving San José, and can be paid in cash or by card. For damage questions, email customer.service@enterprise.cr or call +506 2242 7800.

One-way returns and other Guanacaste counters

One-way rentals must be reserved in advance, depend on availability, and add charges collected when you pick up the car. Those charges cannot be prepaid. Start and end the rental where your itinerary actually begins and finishes.

Other Guanacaste counters include Tamarindo Airport and Tamarindo Downtown, diagonal to Tamarindo Diria. Flamingo Beach sits next to Massai Supermarket. Las Catalinas is at Playa Danta. JW Marriott Guanacaste is at Hacienda Pinilla. Coco Beach is at Plaza Del Coco Mall, in front of Coco Beach Hotel.

Driving inside Costa Rica is unrestricted. Crossing into Nicaragua requires a prearranged vehicle exchange at the border, with at least three days' notice. Only Economy, Compact, Intermediate SUV, and Standard SUV vehicles qualify for that border exchange.

The Costa Rica contract closes, a second agreement is opened at the same rate, and a 50 USD exchange fee applies. Returning to Costa Rica repeats the process with another 50 USD fee. If you will not come back, tell the Costa Rica office when you set up the exchange.

How to use the car around Brasilito and Conchal

A rental pays off when you want your own schedule for Flamingo, Potrero, Tamarindo, or Papagayo. It also helps when lodging sits away from the sand, or when you are shifting bags between houses. A single-resort stay with included transfers may not need a car on the first afternoon.

Roads link Brasilito with Playa Conchal and the rest of this coast. Rain and construction can stretch a short hop, so keep longer rural drives in daylight. Hotel, beach, and highway routes around Brasilito and Playa Conchal often work with a regular car or two-wheel-drive SUV.

Steep or rain-softened tracks to a villa are another matter. Talk with your host about the last stretch. An SUV class is not automatically four-wheel drive. Match the vehicle to the roads you will drive.

Bring the physical license, passport, qualifying credit card, and reservation. Walk around the car before you leave and note existing marks. Decide on fuel and protections at the counter so the 09:00-15:00 day is enough.

A workable local rhythm is a morning pickup, a supermarket stop in Flamingo, then beach time before the afternoon heat. Return with a full tank if you chose You Refill, and get back well before 15:00. The colón is Costa Rica's currency. U.S. dollars and major cards are widely taken.

A valid passport is required to enter the country, and visa rules depend on nationality. If the Brasilito hours do not match your flight, look next at Tamarindo Airport or Flamingo Beach, then call +506 2242 7800 to set the pickup.
