Sunrise Villas Alice

Tourism Service in Playa Conchal, Guanacaste, Costa Rica.

Sunrise Villas Alice is a privately hosted stay in Huacas, the inland village behind Playa Conchal and Brasilito in Santa Cruz, Guanacaste. The recently renovated property is built around outdoor living: a garden, a terrace, a hot tub, an outdoor dining area, and a barbecue, with mountain views and free private parking on site. Air conditioning, a smoke-free interior, and a pet policy that allows animals at no charge make it a house-like base rather than a beachfront hotel.

Huacas is a crossroads on Route 155, not a shoreline. You sleep a few minutes inland from the Conchal–Flamingo corridor, shop and eat in the village, and drive out to the water when you want sand. Tamarindo Airport is about five miles away, so the location also works as a first or last night after a domestic flight.

Garden, terrace, and the bungalow

Indoor space is air-conditioned, with a sitting area, living room, towels, bed linen, and a private bathroom with free toiletries, a shower, and a bathtub. The kitchen includes a refrigerator, dining table, kitchenware, and a tea and coffee maker. There is a flat-screen TV, a wardrobe, and linens. Sleeping furniture for the bungalow is one full bed and one sofa bed in a unit of about 36 square meters.

The outdoor layout is what most people will use in Guanacaste heat. A garden and terrace open onto outdoor furniture, an outdoor dining area, and a barbecue. A hot tub is part of the property. Mountain views come with the inland setting. Because the stay is smoke-free, the terrace is the natural place for evening air.

Treat the kitchen as a breakfast and leftovers kitchen. It is enough to keep fruit, water, and a simple dinner if you would rather not drive to Flamingo after a long beach morning. Charcoal for the barbecue is easy to pick up in Huacas before you settle in for the evening.

Parking, check-in, and finding Huacas

Private parking is on site and free. In this part of Guanacaste that parking is how you reach Conchal, Brasilito, Flamingo, and Tamarindo on your own clock. Huacas is a working village with highway traffic at the cruce, so having a space on the property matters more than it would in a walkable beach town.

Check-in starts at 2:00 p.m. and checkout is by 12:00 p.m. The minimum age at check-in is 18. A one-night stay is allowed, which is useful if you are connecting through Tamarindo Airport. The host is a private host, so arrival is arranged person to person rather than at a reception desk. The street description is 300 meters east of the Huacas plaza de deportes, in Santa Cruz canton, postal code 50304. If you arrive after dark, the host number is +506 6182 4930.

From Tamarindo Airport the drive is short. International flights more often use Liberia, a longer run south through Santa Cruz. A rental car is the usual tool for a Huacas stay. Taxis and tour operators cover Conchal and Flamingo beach days if you prefer not to drive the last stretch to the sand.

A day from Huacas to Conchal and Flamingo

Morning is the comfortable time on this coast. Leave Huacas early for Brasilito or Playa Conchal, when the shell beach is easier to walk and the public access is quieter. Conchal is the pale, crushed-shell cove many people come to this stretch of Guanacaste to see; Brasilito is the village beach beside it. After midday heat, returning inland for lunch, the terrace, and the hot tub is a natural rhythm.

Flamingo, a short drive north, has a broader bay, more restaurants, and boat tours. Tamarindo, west of the airport, is the surf and evening option. You do not have to sleep in those towns to use them. A Huacas bungalow with parking and a kitchen lets you treat the coast as a series of outings.

Local operators in the Tempate–Huacas area run Conchal beach trips and Flamingo boat days. If you want a driver for a sunset run, that is often easier than parking at the busiest beach lots in high season.

Eating, shopping, and what to bring

Huacas has enough food for daily life. Village restaurants and sodas near the crossroads include Restaurante La Estrella, Panaderia La Principal, Bar M y M, Bar y Restaurante La Gata, Soda Sabor Pinolero, Soda donde C, Cafetería y heladera Enjoy, Didú Marisqueria, Punto Tranquilo Restaurant, and Soda La Ruta D’ Bonaza. A bakery breakfast and a soda lunch keep you off the road when beach traffic is heavy.

For charcoal, ice, hardware, and household odds and ends, shops such as Ferretería El Colono Huacas, Grupo Diez, and MAFERCO sit along the same corridor. Lavandería DG handles laundry if you stay long enough to need it. Moto and tire shops are in town if a rental car picks up a puncture on the roads toward the beaches.

Bring reef-safe sunscreen, water shoes for Conchal’s shells, and a small cooler if you picnic. Towels, linens, and basic toiletries are already in the bungalow. If you cook, plan on the refrigerator and kitchenware rather than a full spice pantry. For pets, a leash and a water bowl matter; animals are allowed free, and Huacas streets are active near the highway.

Pets, children, and who this stay suits

Pets are allowed at no charge. Children are welcome, and the property includes family rooms in a smoke-free, non-smoking building. That combination—pets, children, parking, kitchen, garden—is the usual reason to book a Huacas villa instead of a hotel room in Tamarindo.

It suits travelers who have a car, want to mix beach days with quiet evenings, and like dealing with a private host. The inland site trades oceanfront for mountain views, a garden, and a shorter hop to the airport and village shops.

Free cancellation is offered, and a one-night minimum applies, though holiday weeks on this coast often book differently. The useful conversation with the host covers how many people the full bed and sofa bed will hold for your group, where to pull in off the plaza de deportes road, and any pet or child details for your dates.

Dry months from December through April are the busiest on the Santa Cruz beaches. Green-season afternoons often bring rain, when the terrace, indoor sitting area, and hot tub earn their keep. Either season, plan the beach for the morning, Huacas for the hot hours, and Flamingo or Brasilito if you want a sunset plate of fish.

Sunrise Villas Alice is a small, outdoor-oriented bungalow stay in the village that serves Playa Conchal. Use it as a parked, pet-friendly base: cook when you want, drive to the shell beach when the light is good, and come back to the garden when the coast gets loud.
