Tour Guanacaste Matapalo

Tourism Service in Las Catalinas, Guanacaste, Costa Rica.

Outings arranged across Guanacaste

Tour Guanacaste arranges ATV, jet-ski, zip-line, mangrove boat, volcano, and waterfall outings for hotels, resorts, and vacation rentals across Guanacaste. The same operator books catamaran and diving trips, private vans with bilingual drivers, and wedding or in-home event services.

Named activities include a Tamarindo mangrove estuary boat tour, a jet-ski and snorkeling tour, and an ATV zip-line canopy tour. The broader set also includes cultural tours, blue zone tours, rainforest tours, animal tours, air activities, private tours, sunset tours, kids tours, eco tours, and budget tours.

A TripAdvisor association places the attraction in Playa Potrero. No street address and no weekly hours are published. Coverage for local tours includes Tamarindo, Playa Flamingo, Playa Potrero, Playas del Coco, Playa Conchal, and Puerto Puntarenas.

Hotel-focused tours are offered for RIU Guanacaste and Palace, Four Seasons Papagayo, Secrets Papagayo, Occidental Papagayo, Westin Reserva Conchal, Tamarindo Diria, JW Marriott Resort and Spa, and JW Marriott Costa Elena. For Tamarindo, Flamingo, Potrero, Playas del Coco, and Conchal, the same operator also covers local exploring, eating and drinking, and yoga or exercise.

Land choices from trails to volcanoes

Land bookings cover different kinds of effort. ATV tours, ATV BBQ tours, and buggy tours are driven outings. Zip-line activities are harness work from a platform. Congo Canopy offers ATV tours, zip-line tours, and combo tours, so one format or both can be booked.

Volcano tours name Rincón de la Vieja, Tenorio, and Arenal. Waterfall trips sit with that inland set. Rainforest tours, animal tours, and cultural tours center on watching and walking. Blue zone tours are a separate land category, not a label for every nature day.

The Guachipelín Adventure Day Pass is a full day near Rincón de la Vieja. It combines ziplining across the Río Blanco Canyon, rappelling, tubing on the Río Negro River through sections with Class III rapids, horseback riding through the countryside around Hacienda Guachipelín, volcanic hot springs, a mud bath, and lunch at the hacienda restaurant.

Professional guides give safety instructions and stay with participants. Canyon canopy has a minimum age of 4 and a maximum weight of 300 pounds, about 136 kilograms. River tubing requires a minimum age of 8, a minimum height of 140 centimeters, about 4 feet 7 inches, and the same weight limit. Canyoning and rappelling start at age 10, with the same weight cap. Closed-toe shoes are mandatory for those three activities.

Children who do not meet the age or height rule for one activity cannot join that activity. Each activity is also subject to the guide’s safety assessment, weather, and operational requirements. Comfortable outdoor clothing, swimwear, a towel, sunscreen, insect repellent, drinking water, and a change of clothes belong in the bag. Footwear that can get wet matters for the river and the canyon.

Water activities and boat rentals

Water bookings cover snorkeling, jet-ski outings, catamaran cruises, yacht tours, sport fishing, scuba diving, surfing, and white-water rafting. The Tamarindo mangrove estuary boat tour and the jet-ski and snorkeling tour are separate named activities. Sunset tours are offered as their own style.

Boat rentals are a different decision from a guided cruise. Rental choices include catamarans, pangas, fishing boats, and other watercraft. A rental is a hull and a block of time. A cruise keeps a crew in charge of route, timing, and gear. Catamaran rentals are available beside the broader catamaran cruise offering.

People who want only a ride, only a snorkel, only a fishing boat, or only a stable deck can match the booking to that preference. Rafting, surfing, and scuba each use different water and different gear, so they are poor stand-ins for one another.

Private vans and other ways to move

Private van and driver service is available for up to eight hours. It covers private airport pickup and drop-off, nights out, shopping trips, self-guided tours, and a custom itinerary with door-to-door service. The shuttles are air-conditioned. Drivers are experienced, bilingual, and knowledgeable about the landscape, flora, and fauna of Guanacaste. The published starting price is USD 49.

The same service description notes that Costa Rica is home to Rincón de la Vieja, given as 6,286 feet high and 9 miles wide, and called the Colossus of Guanacaste, the largest and most active volcano in the province. That note is scenery for a ride. A guided volcano tour remains its own booking.

Shuttle service, bus and van rental, and car rental through Toyota, Adobe, Economy, and Avis are offered beside the private van. A hired driver fits a set route with commentary. A rental car fits people who want unscheduled stops and are comfortable driving. A bus or larger van fits a group that will not fit in one private vehicle. Self-guided tours can use a driver, while a guided activity still follows its own plan.

Events, quieter days, and group formats

Wedding and in-home event services belong with this operator, together with special events, weddings, and party planning in Guanacaste. Nightlife tours, corporate team building, and incentive groups are bookable. LGBT activities and solo adventures are offered as their own formats.

Spa treatments and accommodation help sit with the shop services. Yoga and spa activities, help with medical appointments, and self-guided tours are quieter options. Air activities are available for people who want time above the ground rather than on a trail or a boat. Kids tours are available when the day should be built around children from the start.

Private tours are available when a shared departure is not the right fit. Budget tours and eco tours give two more ways to shape the day, one around cost and one around habitat. None of these formats has to be stacked onto a volcano day or a water day.

Choosing among real options

Start with the activity name that matches the group, then add transport or event help only if that help is actually wanted. A mangrove boat, a catamaran cruise, or a private van keeps people together without putting everyone on an ATV or in a harness. An ATV, a zip line, rappelling, or river tubing needs comfort with machines, height, or moving water, and the Guachipelín rules make those limits specific.

A volcano or waterfall trip, including the Guachipelín day near Rincón de la Vieja, is the inland plan. Coastal names such as the Tamarindo mangrove tour, jet-ski and snorkeling, and the ATV zip-line canopy tour are the closer activity titles. Sunset tours, kids tours, and private tours are alternate shapes, not automatic add-ons.

For a celebration, the event services cover weddings, in-home events, parties, nightlife, corporate team building, and incentive groups. Accommodation help is there when the stay itself still needs arranging. A driver booking can cover the airport, an evening, or a self-guided stretch without turning that ride into a guided adventure.

Reaching the concierge

A concierge chat is offered around the clock at chat.tourguanacaste.com. Email info@tourguanacaste.com or phone +1 (424) 253-6942. A useful note names the date, the hotel or rental, the group size and ages, and one or two activity names. Mention a driver or event help in that same note when either one belongs in the plan.

The reply is where pickup, inclusions, and the total should be settled, because those details follow the activity. The Guachipelín pass already states age, height, weight, footwear, and what to bring. Other activities do not publish those limits here, so the activity name and the people in the group are the right starting point.
