What to check before booking a rental
Compare how each home fits the actual trip: beach access, groceries, restaurants, road surface, parking, stairs, workspace, air conditioning, laundry, and transport after dark. A similar-looking distance on a map can feel very different in heat, rain, or without a car. Keep questions, answers, prices, and terms in writing before sending money. Confirm who receives the payment, which currency applies, and what happens if travel plans change.
For a longer stay, ask how utilities, cleaning, maintenance visits, guests, pets, and notice for departure are handled. Confirm the billing currency and meter-reading dates.
Save the signed agreement, payment receipts, inventory, and check-in photos.
Pick an area deliberately
Potrero and Surfside put everyday services close to the bay. Flamingo centers the beach and marina. Brasilito is convenient for town life and Conchal access, while Las Catalinas offers a pedestrian core with hilly surroundings.
Ask before paying
Confirm the full price, taxes, deposits, cancellation terms, minimum stay, utilities for longer rentals, check-in method, exact location, house rules, and who can solve an urgent maintenance problem during the stay.
Match the season
Dry-season demand can tighten availability. Greener months can bring afternoon rain and changing road conditions. Ask about drainage, covered access, backup water or power arrangements, and whether a standard vehicle suits the final approach.
